The Subconscious Mind versus the Conscious Mind
The subconscious mind is an incredibly powerful part of you.It is what makes you, you. All your habits, reactions, beliefs, emotions and instincts come form this part of you. In addition, the subconscious mind regulates your breathing, your digestive and respiratory systems and so much more. To give you an indication of how powerful the subconscious mind is, it is believed that it accounts for 90-95% of us. The subconscious mind uses images to communicate and holds all your long term memories.
The conscious mind is only 5-10% of you. The conscious mind is more focussed on logic, on words and numbers. It holds short term memories and where learning takes place.
Many of us believe that if we want to make changes, such as to our relationship with food for example, we can use willpower. But willpower is from the conscious part of us. It will more often than not run out. Determination and keeping our ‘eye on the prize’ will wane as other things takeover. The conscious mind can hold up to only 9 thoughts at once. So, this is why, when ‘life gets in the way’, the willpower and determination wane and then stop.
How do we access the subconscious mind?
We all have various ‘frequencies’ on which we operate. When we are chatting and working, thinking with our conscious brain, we operate on the Gamma or Beta level. Healing takes place at Alpha, Theta and can also take place at Delta level, which is also the level of sleep.
As a hypnotherapist, I am able to help you relax deeply to an Alpha, Theta or Delta level. It is a wonderful state to be in and I liken it to being almost asleep on a sunbed, or having a wonderful massage. It is a state where you can take some time for you, to think about you and connect with yourself at a subconscious level. It is also important to explain that you are able to get up, should you want to, to leave, or to reject anything if your subconscious does not accept it. You are fully in control. I then guide you through a meditation which more often than not, is visual. But do not worry of you think that you are not a visual person, as this element takes care of itself.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a deeply, relaxing therapy. I specialise in helping people suffering with emotional trauma and PTSD. The results from my clients speak for themselves.
I help my clients to reach a wonderfully relaxed state and then make suggestions to their subconscious mind. It sounds so simple and too good to be true. however, hypnotherapy has been used for many, many years to help relieve the symptoms of emotional trauma and replace them with feel-good emotions.
I am a fully accredited and insured clinical hypnotherapist, registered with the General Register of Hypnotherapists (GHR) and accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). I abide by strict guidelines relating to GDPR and also Continual Professional Development (CPD). I am a member of Sheila Rangers Hypnosis Growth Club and as such, continually add to and update my practices. I am also governed by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM).
Belief Coding ®
However, if the subconscious mind is tapped into, beliefs are changed. So, the person who wants to feel comforted by eating fatty fast food, for example, will keep holding on to this desire for fatty fast food. They may be able to force themselves to resist it for a period of time. This can be days, weeks or maybe months. But, usually, once the goal is reached the person will go back to their old habits as they still hold that old belief system. However, if the belief is changed at a subconscious level, this is very unlikely to happen. Because the client now believes that they like the taste of an apple or a handful of nuts, and they have also dealt with whatever the deep-rooted discomfort was, that was responsible for this yearning for comfort in the first place.
Sanomentology
Sanomentology is a beautiful therapy where healing takes place on a physical, mental and spiritual level. It allows your subconscious mind the freedom to understand where the changes need to be made and then, make those changes, freeing any trapped trauma and almost placing the client back in a state of being ‘reset’.
Belief Coding ®
Belief Coding ® is an enlightening process where we get to the very point where a belief was taken on, or ‘trapped’ by an individual. This process gets straight to the heart of a negative belief and we change this unwanted belief to several empowering, positive and inspiring beliefs. Changing the world, one belief at a time.
Every one of these therapies gives immediate and lasting relief. In addition, every one of these therapies can relieve and address any discomfort. I do recommend a number of sessions of Hypnotherapy and Sanomentology. First we eradicate the negative, accept or forgive the past, be it other people, events, or yourself. Then we move in to the future and embedding new neural pathways for new behaviours, beliefs and ways of thinking. With Belief Coding ®, we deal with the discomfort and embedding the new beliefs in one session.
